Privacy

Tamil Nadu Finance Analytics is built to be unobtrusive. The short answer is that we collect nothing personal; the long answer is below.

Last modified 2026-05-14.

What we collect

Nothing personal. No accounts, no logins, no cookies, no email subscriptions, no fingerprinting, no advertising trackers. The site is a static export — there is nowhere on the server for personal data to land.

What gets logged

Aggregate page views are recorded via Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless, IP-anonymised, and stores no individual session. We use it only to know whether the site is reaching readers; we cannot identify any individual visitor from it.

Third-party processors

Per the DPDP Act 2023, we list every third party that processes any data attributable to your visit, what jurisdiction they operate in, and what they receive.

Cloudflare

Jurisdiction
United States (with India edge presence).
What they receive
Your IP address (anonymised before storage), browser User-Agent, the page path you viewed, plus a Turnstile challenge token if you submit feedback. Cloudflare also fronts the site as a DDoS mitigation layer.
Opt-out
Block Cloudflare's `static.cloudflareinsights.com` script in your browser's network tools or via an extension; the rest of the site continues to work.

Google Cloud Platform — hosting, GCS, Cloud CDN future processor

Jurisdiction
United States (data resident in `asia-south1` Mumbai region).
What they receive
Your IP address and standard HTTP request metadata as part of serving the static site and the public PDF mirror.
Opt-out
Use a VPN or proxy if you do not wish to disclose your IP to a US-incorporated cloud provider. (Note: GCP and Cloud CDN are not yet active — this is a future processor; they will start receiving traffic once the cloud pipeline is deployed in W3+.)

Maintainer email provider future processor

Jurisdiction
Maintainer's resident jurisdiction (disclosed when domain DNS is set up).
What they receive
If you send feedback, your mail client will open with our address pre-filled. The email arrives in the maintainer's mailbox via the maintainer's email provider; we receive whatever metadata your mail client sends with it (commonly your name, email address, and IP from the SMTP envelope).
Opt-out
Use an alias or anonymous mail service if you wish to send feedback without disclosing your identity. (Note: This processor is also not yet active — `feedback@tnfiscal.org` will route to the maintainer's email once the domain is registered, per SCOPE.md §7.8.)

Your rights under the DPDP Act 2023

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 grants you the right to information about how your data is processed, the right to deletion, and the right to grievance redress. Because we collect no personal data and store nothing identifying, there is nothing for us to delete on request — but you have the right to ask. For grievance redress, write to the maintainer at the email address shown on this page.

Updates to this policy

This policy is versioned in the public repository. Any change is recorded as a commit and surfaced on /corrections. There is no separate change log — the git history is the change log.
